She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Missouri, Columbia as well. At OFS, she previously held the title of Director of Child and Community Nutrition.

The mother of two young girls, Melissa spends as much time as possible outdoors, going on nature walks and playing in the park. She loves cooking for family and friends and hosting people at her house.

From Melissa:

“It’s important to me that all children are given the same opportunity to grow into healthy and fulfilled adults. In our inequitable society, many children are born into disadvantage that will follow them through life. This is a systemic problem that does not have an easy solution, but I take pride knowing that the programs we provide help kids realize their full potential. Our meal programs put kids on an even playing field with their peers, allowing them to succeed in and out of the classroom.”
