Serving: Makes 8 cheeseburger cups, serves approximately 4
Prep/Cook Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef (90% lean)
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- ½ C ketchup
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp mustard
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 12 slices of cheese, small slices
- 6 Hamburger buns, split
- Optional: ketchup, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, or your favorite hamburger topping.
Instructions
- Cook the ground beef in a skillet with salt and pepper, browning well. Drain excess fat.
- Mix in ketchup, Worcestershire, mustard, and brown sugar. Remove from heat.
- Grease a muffin tin. Flatten each burger bun in half and press into each muffin slot, forming a cup shape. If you’re using a large sized muffin pan, you may need to make fewer, perhaps 6-8, or increase the meat recipe.
- Divide the meat mixture among the 12 slots. Top each with cheddar cheese, and bake at 350 degrees until the buns are toasty and the cheese is melted, approximately 10 minutes.
- Remove from the muffin tins and top with ketchup, mustard, pickles, lettuce, or the toppings of your choice.
