August 2025 (ST. LOUIS) – Operation Food Search (OFS) is pleased to announce a $1.5 million gift from the Enterprise Mobility Foundation as part of their Healthy Food, Healthy Community Renovation Project. The funds were used as a challenge grant to encourage other donors to participate in the campaign, which funded the renovation of OFS’s headquarters.
It is one of the largest gifts in the nonprofit’s history.
“Enterprise Mobility Foundation is a dedicated, strategic partner. We started our conversation with their leadership two years ago, and they were focused on using their gift as a tool to help us reach our goals,” said OFS Chief Development Officer Ellen Reed-Fox, CFRE. “The end of a campaign can be a challenging time. Most of the bigger gifts have been received, and an organization needs to inspire donors to help them get across the finish line. Structuring the Enterprise donation as a challenge grant motivated donors and friends who wanted to make a difference; it allowed them to double their impact.”
Matching funds received from other donors went directly to the renovation project, while Enterprise’s funds went into an endowment fund that will strengthen the organization for years to come.
“We are thankful for the vision of Jo Ann Taylor Kindle and the Enterprise Mobility Foundation. They have made investments in OFS during some of the most critical times in our organization’s evolution,” said Kristen Wild, OFS President & CEO. “The Foundation’s gift will help us go beyond providing immediate food assistance, working to address the underlying causes of hunger in the St. Louis community.”
The Healthy Food, Healthy Community campaign centered around renovation of the OFS facility in Overland, where they lead the effort to feed over 200,000 food insecure people each month across the region.
The renovation comes at a crucial time; many local pantries have seen a 20-30% increase in the need for food.
