Food donations are the backbone of Operation Food Search.

OFS collects food from food drives, through discounted purchases and from donations by the grocery industry, manufacturers and distributors. OFS also recovers leftover prepared food from dining facilities at hospitals, universities and other institutions. In addition, we have a gleaning program that enables us to rescue fresh food from farms that would otherwise be unharvested or wasted.

Food Donations from Individuals

In addition to non-perishable items, OFS accepts all types of food donations in all quantities. While we cannot accept food that is prepared at home, we do accept left-over food from catered events prepared in a commercial kitchen, if it has not been set out or served. Proper temperature of food is required (refrigerated or frozen).

We accept donations from 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday, at our warehouse at 1644 Lotsie Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63132. During COVID-19 we ask that donations be placed in the large white bin outside our warehouse.
