For Kari, being a member of OFS’s Nutrition Education team is a dream come true. Her work at OFS is in perfect alignment with her belief that everyone, regardless of income or socioeconomic status, should have access to healthy and delicious food. As a Cooking Matters facilitator, Kari enjoys teaching people how to cook nutritious, affordable and great-tasting meals.
Kari is a native of Potosi, MO, a small town located south of St. Louis, MO. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO, and completed a year-long dietetic internship at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
In her spare time, Kari writes about nutrition topics as a freelancer. She has a wide-range of interests, including cooking, gardening, running, riding horses, traveling, reading, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family.
