Hannah teaches nutrition education and cooking classes in the community with a focus on Community Partner Pantries and helps those in need learn healthy cooking tips on a budget. Hannah’s largest project is working on finding more community partners to increase access to nutrition education throughout the St. Louis region as well as encourage changes in attitudes and behaviors around healthy food choices and improve food access.
Hannah received her degree in Nutrition/Dietetics at the University of Minnesota in 2016 and moved to St. Louis for her MA in Healthcare Communications and Dietetic Internship at Fontbonne University shortly after. Prior to going to school, she was on the path to being a school teacher and had worked in low-income school districts as an AmeriCorps member and so when she discovered her love with teaching nutrition, the switch was easy.
From Hannah: Throughout my life I have always worked with underrepresented populations and believe that it is essential to promote nutrition, health, and well being initiatives to help empower individuals, families, and communities to improve health outcomes. In my graduation speech, I stated that I was going to end hunger, and I get to do just that at OFS, how awesome is that?
