As the Child Nutrition Program Coordinator, Mimiw (pronounced Me-mew) handles the daily coordination of both Operation Food Search’s Afterschool Meals Program and Summer Meals Program. She communicates with partners and vendors, plans and makes daily orders, handles delivery logistics, as well as visits sites to ensure program requirements.

Mimiw recently earned her Bachelor of International Human Rights from Webster University. She had previously worked at OFS as an on-site coordinator during the mobile Summer Meals Program in 2019 as well as a communications intern in 2020.

Mimiw was awarded departmental honors upon her graduation and also saw her senior thesis on food insecurity get published by Webster University.

She loves anything creative, whether it has to do with work or not. Additionally, Mimiw loves to travel, try new foods, and meet new people with her family and friends. It’s all about expanding the mind, serving the community, and always learning.

From Mimiw:

“Every level of our health is impacted by what we eat, and that is even more the case for children. That’s why it’s so important to work toward food security and nutrition security for all people in our community–especially children. Children should never have to bear the emotional and physical burden of wondering where their next meal will come from.”
