Child Nutrition Program Manager Email Brooklyn | (314) 451-1954

Brooklyn coordinates the Operation Backpack program, which serves 8,000 children each weekend. Her responsibilities include recruiting schools to participate in Operation Backpack, coordinating volunteer opportunities, and communicating with school coordinators.

During her previous work in a hospital setting, Brooklyn became interested in prevention and social determinants of health. She graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia with a Bachelor of Health Science. She went on to obtain a Master of Public Health degree there as well.

In 2017, she was presented the MU Health Care CEO Award for her work on implementing strategies to reduce hospital infections.

Through the innovative programs at Operation Food Search, Brooklyn works to break down the barriers that lead to food insecurity in the St. Louis region.

In her spare time, Brooklyn enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and going on walks with her two dogs, Jack and Lucy.

From Brooklyn: “I chose a career in public health because I wanted to work to solve public health issues, not just treat the symptoms. At Operation Food Search, we are always researching and implementing new and innovative ways to stop the cycle of hunger, not only in our community, but across the United States. It is truly a privilege to be part of a team that is helping to make a change.”
