What is the Summer Meals Program?

This year is Operation Food Search’s 10th year as a dedicated sponsor of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Funded by the USDA and authorized by the Missouri Department of Health and Human Services, we collaborate with region-wide partners to bring healthy meals to children 18 and under. Read more about the Summer Meals Program and its impact.

How can my child receive free meals?

Serving children where they live and play is at the heart of our Summer Meals Program! This summer, we have partnerships to serve free meals at 38 locations throughout the St. Louis region. Stopping by a meal site with your family saves you time and money spent grocery shopping and meal prepping. And most importantly, these free meals help provide crucial nutrition to your children when school’s out and support the growth and development of their healthy minds and bodies.

As the USDA requires, children must stay on-site to finish their meal and may take one fruit, vegetable, or grain item to eat later offsite. While they’re eating, they will have access to several fun activities many of our sites offer.

When does the Summer Meals Program start?

Our summer meals program will officially launch Monday, June 6th and run through August 19th. We can’t wait to see you at our sites!
