As the MetroMarket Coordinator, Nancy oversees all food purchasing and the execution of grocery delivery and mobile market programs. On the MetroMarket bus, she assists with cashier duties, bagging groceries, stocking, and loading/unloading. Additionally, Nancy is responsible for communicating with local farmers and wholesalers, setting prices for the market, overseeing the bag-packing program, and building relationships with customers and community partners. Previously, she had spent 18 years as a patient transporter and interim patient transport supervisor at SSM St. Mary’s Health Hospital.

Nancy earned an Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Health and Information Technology and certification of Proficiency in Medical Billing and Coding. Previously, she volunteered as an assistant coach for the dance team and drumline for Gateway Stem High School. Nancy’s first introduction to the St. Louis MetroMarket came as a volunteer back in 2016.

When she isn’t working the market or busy in the office, Nancy loves to travel and binge-watch Netflix. She adores her two adult children.

From Nancy:

“I am a diabetic, and when I came to the MetroMarket, my A1c was a 12. Many of the workers and customers gave me advice about food and showed me how to eat healthy on a budget. With lots of hard work that A1c dropped to 6.5. So, it’s nice to be able to give others information, share recipes and be able to provide fresh and affordable groceries since eating healthy can sometimes be expensive. If I can help change someone else’s A1c then I know I am changing my community one person at a time.”
