Kari is from Potosi, MO, a small town south of St. Louis, MO. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO, and completed a year-long dietetic internship at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
She loves coming from a large family and is very close with her parents, two brothers, and sister. She enjoys cooking, gardening, running, riding horses, traveling, reading, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family. She also does some freelance writing about nutrition topics in her spare time.
Kari feels that every person has the ability to cook nutritious, great-tasting, affordable, easily-prepared meals if they are given comprehensive, hands-on nutrition and culinary education. She also feels that everyone, regardless of income or socioeconomic status, should have access to healthy and delicious food. Kari is thrilled to work for Operation Food Search’s Cooking Matters.
